PROFILE
My name is Julian Henderson and I am a multidisciplinary designer, illustrator and creative leader with over a decade of experience across film, photography, print and brand-led marketing. I hold a BA (Hons) in Design and Visual Communications and have built a career that blends visual storytelling with strategic, results-driven thinking.

I am currently Head of Marketing for a multi-venue hospitality group, where I lead brand, digital, content and campaign strategy across multiple venues. My work sits at the intersection of creativity and performance, shaping everything from digital campaigns and social content to major promotions, events and brand development.

Alongside my marketing leadership, I have worked across major film and television productions including Netflix Interceptor, Stan and BBC The Tourist and Amazon Prime Class of ’07. I also bring hands-on experience in photography and print production, with a strong understanding of how ideas move from concept to finished product across both digital and physical media.

BACKGROUND

I am a multidisciplinary designer, illustrator and creative lead with over 15 years of experience working across large organisations, agile start-ups and a broad range of freelance clients. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Design & Visual Communication (2010), with sub-majors in Studio Photography and Illustration, and have been actively working in the creative industry ever since.

Alongside my design practice, I bring extensive experience in marketing and digital marketing, creating brand-led campaigns, visual systems and content that are built not just to look good, but to perform. My work is informed by a deep understanding of how design, storytelling and digital platforms intersect to grow audiences, increase engagement and drive measurable results.
​
I also have a strong technical background in print and production, having worked as a commercial printer for two bespoke studios, The Distillery and Carbon8. This gives me an end-to-end understanding of how ideas move from concept to finished product, across print, physical environments and digital outputs. I have hands-on experience with paper engineering, acrylic fabrication, woodworking, laser cutting and prototyping, allowing me to design with a level of realism and craftsmanship that few designers can offer.

​I am equally effective embedded within a creative or marketing team, collaborating with stakeholders, or leading projects end-to-end as an independent studio. Whether contributing specialised skills in branding, illustration or digital content, or overseeing the full creative and production process, I bring structure, clarity and momentum to every project.​My approach is rooted in user-centred, insight-driven design.
I combine research, data, creative exploration and prototyping to ensure every piece of work is strategically aligned, visually compelling and commercially effective. The result is design that not only looks refined, but connects with audiences, strengthens brands and supports real marketing outcomes.
